• If you have a bad needle it could be harmful to vinyl. However it sounds like you may have a balance issue. If weight on the arm is too much or too little it will cause issues. Its important to have proper balance & speed to ensure proper play. (Balancing is done with the round cylinder at the back of the arm.) Best of luck

• When the stylus wears out you replace it. The turntable starts automatically at the push of a button, or you can move the arm to the track you want and cue down.
