A:Answer I just installed this unit on my van and it works fine. This camera is a good close approximation to the OEM backup cameras on most cars, vans, and SUV's. Note it is only a camera. The image must be viewed on any NTSC or PAL compatible display. That means if you don't have a suitable display already on your dash, you need to purchase one. The display MUST have a Yellow "RCA" video-input connection on the back of the unit. Multimedia head units (radios) that have touch pad displays already are probably compatible however you need to check the specs of your dash unit to be certain. Some independent above/on dash displays will also work. This can be confirmed by looking up the specs in the owners manual or looking at the back of the unit for the Yellow RCA video in plug. Best Buy highly suggests the Geek Squad for installation. If you feel you are not qualified to install the unit, allow the pros to do so. Good Luck.
P.S. The unit works great especially in reasonably bright conditions but also at night. The OEM backup lights are enough to see a slightly less than perfect image even at night on my head unit.
