The self cleaning is just pressing a button on the back side which you hold until you hear it come on. Usually runs about a hour and a half. That helps the lines stay clean and water fresh.

A:AnswerAll models have recently switched from ozone to UV self-cleaning except for A14 which still uses ozone. This unit will automatically self-clean using UV LED inside the cold tank instead of manually turning on the ozone.
The internal water reservoir has a self-sanitizing UV LED bulb that will sanitize any water entering the machine. This also helps prevent any bacteria from building up inside the machine. The UV will turn on and off automatically.
