“Since there are no instructions that come with this thing how do I know it’s working. I put my phone on it with and without the case and the lightening bolt that indicates charging does not come on . I see no lights on the device.”

If everything is working right all I can think of is do you have ithe phone properly centered on the charger? If it's working white LEDs will shine on the face of the charger.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.When I place my iPhone with case on the charger, i get the lightning bolt to show charging, and a ding from the phone itself. There are also two white LEDs on the circular charging pad that light up as well. They would be located at 3 and 6 o'clock. So there should be 3 things that notify you it is working and charging.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I’d start by checking your wall outlet. The charger itself does have two indicator lights on it indicating working conditions. 3&6 o’clock position. Green color. They go in when you rest the phone (my case is Iphone) and when remove the lights stay on for 15??? Secs or so. Good luck. Check your source voltage!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.There is a light on the side of the pad and a lightning bolt next to the battery icon on the IPhone itself. In the upper right corner a lightning bolt appears when it is charging for a second or two when you first lay the phone down.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Looking at the circle charging pad there is a small led light at the 3 o’clock and 6 o’clock position that indicate it is charging. They light right up when I place my phone on there; even in a case. If you dont see the light make sure your power adapter is plugged securely into the charger and wall. If still no lights maybe it is faulty. Also ensure your device is capable of wireless charging. I know most are these days but it wasnt clear from your question. Attached photo shows the led light at the bottom.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.You should see 2 lights on the charger indicating it is working, place your phone in the cradle of the unit, wait a couple of seconds and you should hear your phone ding. It is possible the charging unit is defective as well.
