The built in cable is USB C so unless your MP3 player uses that, you will have to use your own cable and plug it in to the USB port. Same goes for your iPhone - you will need to use your own cable plugged in to the USB port rather than the built-in cable of the charger.

However, you can use a different lightning cable on the available USB port. Also, if your Sony MP3 player is USB-C compatible, then the charger would work with it.
