“I live in a very rural area how do i know it will work in my area? I have AT&T Cell phone but have to go about five miles from my house to get service. How can i tell which one of these to buy and is this a one time payment? Thanks.”

This has nothing to do with a cell phone. This would extend your already existing wireless network in your home. IF you already have internet, and you already have a wireless network in your home, then this device would boost that wireless network. Again, this has nothing to do with a cell phone.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I bought the Linksys RE1000 to extend WiFi further through my home. It definitely works and I think Linksys/Cisco is a better company than Belkin. I don't know if it helps with cell phone usage, but for data, it works great.
