“Does this automatically shut off after a couple hours like similar coffee makers? Also, can you use paper filters with it? Lastly, does the top come off of the pot or is it permanently attached?”

You have to manually turn it off. You may also use paper filters. I do for easier cleaning

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.My coffeemaker does not auto shut off even after many hours. (The instructions say it will shut off in 40 mintues.) It would be very difficult to fit paper filters in this coffeemaker, because the filter area is flat on the bottom. However, the included fabric filter is wonderful. Keeps out grounds and leaves great flavor. It is also easy to clean. The top snaps off the pot. The top of the coffeemaker does not seem to detach.
