It twists off counter-clockwise. You do have to apply more pressure than you'd think, but it gets easier after the first few times.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Remove the filter basket lid. Hold the base of the coffee maker with left hand. Hold the filter basket handle with right hand. Then rotate the filter basket pushing away from you counter clockwise. You will feel and hear the filter basket unlock. You can then remove the filter basket.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Twist to the back of the unit a click should be heard then lift straight up.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I twisted the handle counterclockwise and it came out easily. Also the water spout comes off too if you pull straight up.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Was hesitant about this pour over because of the cost; and the manual doesn't say too much. Simple device though. As everyone else stated, turn counterclockwise. I held the unit and twisted, and it came off easily. My first tries weren't hard enough. As I was trained, don't force it, or you'll break it. I appreciate the feedback because I didn't see it in the manual. Just found where you should wash the permanent filter. Hello! Does state to use the "handle" to lift the filter basket. Figured, I wasn't the only one with this question because the little manual leaves a lot out. So thank you everyone for taking the time to answer this question. I use this pour over for loose teas (herbal, mushrooms), etc. I wanted a different unit just for teas. Perfect so far!
