Wear oven mitts or the like, its 1800 watts of power. It comes with a list of safety instructions to follow. As far as the wording goes when cleaning, so far it has not come off.

Hello Chefmom, Thanks for reaching out. Yes the exterior of the unit gets hot when in function. It is recommended to use oven mitts when using the TOV during operation.It is recommended to use a damp cloth and wiping the unit dry when cleaning the unit exterior. Also, avoid scouring pads or abrasive cleaners that will scratch the surface and affect the printing around the control panel. Have a pleasant day. The BELLA Team.
