I have two dogs who can be messy just like toddlers :). They’ve left some dirt foot prints on the carpet and it did get those spots out (I did clean it not too long after so that may be a factor). As far as the hardwood floor steam action, I use it occasionally but when I have enough time to actually steam clean I prefer to use that instead as it does a much better job. One thing to note is after you use the water feature with this thing it’s important to clean/rinse the tank right after, it’s kind of a pain. But it is nice how the pieces easily come apart.
