Is not a carpet cleaner per se, but in a crunch it will clean up a mess and leave the rug as good as new. Mind you, I've only used it on my 5' by 7' living room area rug and it has tones of white beige and grey, and I also have a Chihuahua and it maintains my rugs clean. Is great on ceramic tile too!

The brush has a stiff bristle area on it and there is a spray on the front but you will want to get a carpet steam cleaner for full cleaning. Thiswould work good for spot cleaning or daily cleaning of hair, daily grime, etc. Not a replacement for maintenance shampooing
