• Yes the battery can be charged when not attached to the vacuum. The vacuum will not stand on it's own. I won't even prop it against a wall or counter as it feels like it'll tilt and fall. The filter vessel is made from plastic so one or two good falls against tile and something is bound to break.

• Yes, you can remove the battery to charge it or leave it in place. No, the unit is not freestanding.

• HI Lancer - the battery can be removed for charging or left in the machine. The stick vacuum does not stand on its own when upright.
