• Once you fill the tank with water, the "Ready" light will flash on and off. Once the "Ready" light stays on, you then push the "On-Off: button. From there, select either "HI" or "LOW" steam. To stop the steam, press the "On-Off" button again. I hope this helps.

• You must wait until the ready light is solid. Then push the On/Off switch and then the Hi or Low button of choice

• Not sure if I'm answering your question but my first time using this machine i did not see any steam. I heard the sound of steaming water and decided to see if it cleaned my floors. In fact ,the mop was working and left less streaking than my previous mop.

• It takes a little while to heat up. But if it doesn't I would call Bissell.
