Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It kind of does. But according to the info and to bissell.com, It maintains the temperature of the already warm to hot water you put in the clean water tank. Personally I think it heats it at least a little especially if the water has cooled in the tank. I know there's been times when I stopped to pick something up or several things, get grandkids or dogs to move etc. By the time I've started again the water in the clean water tank has significantly cooled. Yet the carpet ends up feeling warm after the first minute or two and actually gets close to hot after several minutes of running it. There's a heater between the clean water tank and the dirty water tank. The clean water tank sits on top of it. If you want to know how warm it gets wait until you've had it running several minutes then lift clean water tank and check how warm the little shelf it sits on is.
