Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hi... no. It is rechargeable and you plug it in. However, I get what you are saying about what happens when the rechargeable batter finally quits. I have been using my unit regularly for over a year and it still charges fully with no issues. If it goes for 5 years, I will consider it good value for the price and will likely want to update the unit anyway.
