• This machine has it own way of cleaning and it does a bang up job. Of all the rug cleaning machines I have ever used this is the best . You don’t see the steam or hot water , it says it has it and from all my cleaning it must and we felt like wow what a difference. Oops just put water in it and the machine does the rest. Also, use the cleaning products that Bissell packs with the machine. What a difference this product made! Follow the instructions and you’ll do fine. I’m the open the box and use it person, and once I read the directions, it even worked better. I got great results, and my carpet looked better. Deede

• Hi Tom - this machine does not make steam. It uses water extraction and cleaning formula to clean carpets and upholstery.
