Hi there, Thank you for reaching out and for that wonderful question. I personally like to stop at 14 ounces just to give it a little room to blend and it won't spill but there is no official answer on this one. I've also filled it up all the way to the brim and it still blended up a delicious drink. It's going to vary on the ingredients. You fill that baby up to 16 ounces worth of nuts and you're going to have some time to pulse that but if you toss in 16 ounces worth of watermelon and juice it's going to break down and not be as full. I will say that giving it a little more space will increase the tornado effect for sure. If you find the 16-ounce jar is too small, we also have larger 20 and 32-ounce jars available for purchase separately and only compatible with the BlendJet 2 base. Hope this helps and if you need anything else, feel free to reach out. We're always here and happy to help. Happy Blending! The BlendJet Team
