Both have the same motor power and 8 year warranty. The Classic will be produce a lot more noise from the motor and doesn't have all the preprogrammed cyles. Meaning, if you want to make a hot soup or green juice you'll need to be more hands on and push multiple buttons with the Classic 575 whereas the Designer is a one touch and let it run.

The Designer 650 acutally has preprogrammed settings specifically for Soups and Ice Cream whereas the Classic 575 would require you to use 2 cycles of the "90 second" button in order to make a soup.
