They keyboard is an input device. The autocorrect feature you are looking for is organic to Android OS. The application you are using to type your essay is where you need to look for the auto correct feature.

You'll just have to read and correct your own work. If you are typing in an app such as Microsoft Word or Google Docs then you can use the spell check feature in the program.
