Yes - it does replace your cable Company's DVR. Instead you will need to get a cablecars from them (Verizon $5 per month). As for "What else it does", that depends on what features your cable company's DVR has. The Tivo Bolt is excellent at streaming Amazon, netflix and Hulu and lets you search across all services in one interface which is nice. This unit also works great for being on the road and use your phone to add events to record.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes. Replaces your DVR but you'll need a cable card from your provider. Much cheaper than a DVR monthly fee. Mines $2 a month. So many fantastic features with TiVo. Interface on screen is beautiful. TiVo app is so useful and great. Commercial skip is great. Love my TiVo! I have two plus two minis for the whole house.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes it replaces the cable DVR, you do need a tuning adapter and cable card from the cable company tho. It does record more at one time and also gives suggestions and will record either all episodes or new only. There is also more space for recordings
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes. It does. It has 6 tuners for multiple uses at once, like multiple recordings or other tvs in the home. You no longer lease the cable co equipment, thus saving $ monthly (Im saving $55/mo). It can skip commercials on some stations. It can go "find" your favorite shows and movies from multiple sources. Storage capacity is much larger than my old dvr. There are so many more things to mention like watching on a tablet or phone, etc...that I couldn't list here for brevity sake. I will never go back to the cable company equipment again.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. One thing I wasn't aware of is when you activate TiVo there is a monthly charge of $15. Monthly or $150. annual or $549. Life of unit.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes and no! With Comcast almost yes, with FiOS no. On Demand is reported to work with Comcast but not FiOS. It is a better DVR. It will stream selective services. You still need a subscription. You can use a TiVo mini to view any video or channel that is on the TiVo DVR. No added fee from TiVo just the main DVR subscription fee.
