If you read the Specifications, it shows: CARRIER : UNLOCKED. So I don't understand. This might be my 1st smart phone. Presently, I have a slide out keyboard so I have a lot to learn but it states Unlocked.

Makes it a clause if you will. I bought on but not to be used as a phone. It does nag you to activate it when you turn it on, but you can press the home button to get around it after a short time. It does have a sim card in it and it's under the micro SD card slot. Off topic: I use a 10$ flip phone for phone calls and pay 10 cent a minute on boost mobile service. I have an option to pay 1$ for a full day if I want to use the web on their network. I'll keep that plan for a long time. I prefer to pay for what I use and pay on a plan. They don't offer that plan any more and you can't use this type (mini tablet) of phone on their service unless you pay a monthly rate. I think it's 55$ plus fees and tax's. I don't talk long on a cell phone, it causes soft tissue damage to your brain in less than 3 minutes ( i watched a documentary on it and they used infrared imaging to prove it) , so if you use one, keep switching ears. It's like a tiny microwave. Bluetooth heads would be better for your health if your long winded on your cell phones.
