QuestionI had a 1 yr old Bosch DW in a house I sold a year ago; model # not remembered. It had a 3rd (top) rack. Do all Bosch DW’s have the 3rd rack? I need to replace my DW in apt. I live in now and want a Bosch again and want that 3rd rack as I loved it.

- Answer No, every model does not have a third rack. I actually thought I was getting one on this one but the video I watched was actually for a different model. Do your research carefully to ensure you are getting what you expect.

QuestionI searched the Bosch website and it shows this model number as 'Ascenta® Dishwasher 24" Stainless steel SHX3AR75UC' and not as one of their "100 series" models. Does the Best Buy listing have wrong name, model number, or something else is the case?

- Answer I bought a SHX3AR75UC at Best Buy because it was recommended by Consumer Reports. I paid no attention to "series" numbers. I suspect you're right that the Best Buy website calls it by the wrong name.

- Answer Yes, it is possible to hardwire this dishwasher. You need a special kit which Best Buy also sells and shows as an add on when you go through the buying process.

QuestionIs this a 'self-cleaning' dishwasher. My current washer needs to be manually cleaned every couple of weeks. It accumulates grease and smells bad after awhile.

- Answer Yes it has a cleaning cycle built into the programming. There is a manual clean trap if you don't follow the manufacturers instructions and you routinely place heavily soiled food dishes inside. It is incredibly simple and requires no tools pull out the central trap dump it and put it back just like your sink. You have to be a severely poor at scraping your plates for this to be an issue like leaving meat and pasta on plates prior to washing in machine.

- Answer It says in the manual that the high heat of the water dries the dishes. The glasses, plates, pots, and silverware ARE dry after the wash. Plastic is still wet. Manual says that is because plastic can not reach a high enough temperature. But just today, it melted a plastic water bottle, so it certainly does get hot.

QuestionWhat is the valve size that the water hose uses? I was told it needs to be 3/8", is this correct as I will need to have a plumber replace whatever is there now.

Per the Installation Instructions you will need an elbow connection with 3/4” female hose threads on one end and fits your water supply line (copper tubing, compression fitting, or braided hose) on the other. A hot water supply line - minimum 3/8″ O.D. copper tubing or metal braided dishwasher supply line and shut-off valve and fittings appropriate for hot water supply line (copper tubing/compression fitting, or braided hose).

QuestionWill this DW heat the wash water when it only fills with cold water? ie. with a tankless water heater the incoming water never hets hot before a normal dishwasher is filled.

- Answer Hi Help, thank you for your question and interest in Model:SHX3AR75UC. The hot water heater should be set to deliver approximately 120° F (49° C) water to the dishwasher. Lower water temperatures will increase run times. The hot water supply pressure must be between 15 - 145 psi (1 - 10 bar).
