A:AnswerIf you're Bosch dishwasher displays a red light on the floor and it is currently blinking and the dishwasher is not running it is because you are out of rinse aid fill the reservoir and it should work. It is very hard to find this information.
A:AnswerThere is a manual filter that you can easily access and empty. I especially wanted this, because I had to spend so much time and effort and would end up in pain with my old dishwasher.
You would think that an "automatic" food grinding system would be ideal, but on our old highly-rated when bought KitchenAid dishwasher, I had to get down on the floor and contort and strain myself to dismantle the thing to clean it out. It was very difficult and required a great deal of hand/arm strength to take apart to get to the food grinding mechanism. Every so often a piece of plastic or crab shell or pistachio nut shell would get lodged in the food grinding system and clog it so that no food bits would get disposed, resulting in crud all over the dishes. I don't know how common this is, but I much prefer a system that is manual and easy to use.
This machine has a 2-stage filter that just lifts out. I just cleaned it after 2 months of daily use and found a twister seal in the first compartment and food and debris in the second. Easily (and painlessly!) removed, rinsed with hot water, and replaced in two minutes.
A:AnswerIt seems to be a European dishwasher option - no heating element for drying. It does have “extra dry” option which I’ve used - the water is very hot and I found everything dry when done. I have not tried a cycle without the extra dry option.
A:AnswerDon’t know the Kitchenaid except that we had an old 25 year old model that ran forever with no maintenance. But we decided on the Bosch because of the high ratings and we love it! So quiet, lots of loading options, love the 3rd rack on top for,odd utensils, etc. Also lots of cycle options for our family of 2 that doesn’t make a lot of dishes.
A:AnswerHi there. Thank you for your question. This dishwasher is not finger print resistant. There may be minimal finger prints that would require cleaning.
A:AnswerIt comes with a power cord that plugs into the dishwasher itself, but instead of a wall plug, it has a junction box they expect you to provide either direct electrical connection or wire your own plug into it.
A:AnswerThe 800 series can feature hidden controls with touch sensitive buttons, water softeners, smartphone connectivity, and the MyWay 3rd rack. Both models feature the same wash system and height adjustment for the top rack.
A:AnswerWe have the 800 Series with the recessed handle and front controls, and it is NOT app-controlled. My guess is that's only for the version with the controls on the top of the door where you can't see them while the dishwasher is closed and running.
A:AnswerHi Barb, thank you for your question. If your dishwasher is Model:SHEM78W56N with the controls on the front, it should not have the red light that shines on the floor. For further information please contact our Customer Support Team at 1-800-944-2904.
A:AnswerHi MeetingSt. Thank you for your question. Yes, the 800 Series Dishwasher has a Speed Wash Cycle. The Speed60® Cycle cleans freshly soiled dishes with easy to remove soils. This cycle reduces cycle time while still including drying.
A:AnswerI prefer to use the tabs. The tech shared with us to just sit our tab inside the handle on the upper rack (in the front). He said some tabs have a more stubborn film coating that doesn't dissolve in the cycle. I use to have the problem with my old dishwasher that the door would not open or open partially & the tab would not dissolve & I would have to run another cycle. So far, I've had great luck with the tab dissolving every time. And the tab is less messy to use than the liquid should you overfill accidentally or spill. I have never cared for the powder, the tabs are very convenient & without mess to use.
A:AnswerHi ScottN. Thank you for your question. The SHEM78W55N Dishwasher does require an inlet hose for installation. For both the inlet hose and power cord, please contact your local Best Buy store for information.
