QuestionMy dishwashing cycle is stuck on auto. How do I fix this?

- Answer Some of these are close but... Hold the reset button down until the timer goes to 001. Then turn it off, and turn it on again. It will still say Auto, so you would think nothing has changed, BUT - you can now pick another mode and it will change this time.

- Answer Hi Cre. Thank you for your question. The 800 Series Dishwasher, Model:SHXM88Z75N features the Crystal Dry Option, which will dry your dishes 60% better. The 500 Series Dishwasher, Model #SHXM65Z55N has the AutoAir Option, which when chosen will open the door when the interior of the dishwasher cools to 118 degrees F.

QuestionIs the stainless steel door fingerprint resistant?

- Answer Stainless steel door not fingerprint resistant. Smudges and handprints will show but wipe away quickly with a soapy cloth. Surface is slightly more textured than other stainless steel appliances we have and cleans up better than the smoother stainless material.

QuestionCan silverware be securely placed in the entire top rack? The pictures look like there is a place on the side for silverware but the rest seems more suited to larger utensils. Is that the case? I’m hoping to put all of my silverware in the top rack.

- Answer The smaller slotted rack on the top right is best for protecting the blades of sharp knives where each knife has its own slot and doesn't touch anything else. The rest of the top rack is open without slots. Best for large prep and cooking utensils, measuring cups and shallow bowls. Loose table flatware could be spread out and would not fall through this open area, but I would not recommend this space for flatware which belongs on end in the basket in the bottom rack. On the top rack, spoons not carefully placed upside down would have water pooled in the bowls and none of the flatware would shed water as easily as on end in the lower basket.

- Answer No. none of the Bosch models have a disposer. that is one of the reasons why they are so reliable. There is a filter and screen at the bottom that is easily removed for cleaning.

QuestionThe Bosch 500 models allow the door to open automatically at the end of the run to allow better drying. Does the Bosch 800 models also have this feature?

QuestionThe specifications for this dishwasher state that the Height is 33.8583 inches. Competitor webpage says "Max Height 35.062 inches." I have a space that has a height of just over 34 inches. Will this dishwasher fit into my space?

- Answer Hi Timothy. Thank you for your question. Model:SHXM88Z75N has a minimum height of 33 7/8". With the feet fully extended the maximum height is 35.062".

QuestionCan you tell me the dimensions of the package product? I’m trying to find the specs to determine if it will fit in the back of my SUV. I might have to drive to pick one up since they aren’t available in my area

- Answer Dishwashers are generally not packaged in a box. They are shrink wrapped with a little styrofoam. I’m sure it will fit easily in your SUV. You may have to put the seats down. Dishwashers travel best on their backs with the door facing up and latched since dishwashers are top heavy.

- Answer Yes it has a sanitizing cycle. Great for baby bottles and great when someone in the house has a cold. I feel like nothing, no germ has a chance of making it out of there alive.

QuestionIs there space in the bottom rack for a cookie sheet? In the 500 series Bosch that we own, there is not enough vertical space between the bottom rack and the middle rack to place a larger cookie sheet (or cutting board) on its side in the bottom rack.

- Answer Hi Tom, thanks for your question and interest in model #SHXM88Z75N. This dishwasher has the RackMatic® feature, where the height of the upper rack can be adjusted to create more space. The maximum height for items loaded in the lower rack is 12.6 inches. Tall baking sheets should be placed on the lower rack's right side or center to keep the vent hole on the tub's left side clear. The upper and lower racks are fitted with flip tines that can be folded down depending on what you may need to load in the rack. This unit also includes an extra tall item sprinkler. This is where the upper rack can be removed and the large item spray head is inserted into the upper rack spray outlet. Please refer to the Dishware Materials section of the Use & Care manual for more information about dishware suitability. QuestionWhat is the depth of the handlebar?, trying to decide if we have enough room for it or better to buy without handle sticking out

- Answer The handle protrudes 2 inches from the surface of the front panel. It is not a bother or in the way. This is right where I stand to do most of my prep so I would notice if it was a problem. It is nice to have the controls hidden under the counter top. They stay cleaner.

QuestionI am replacing an old Bosh Dishwasher. What parts do I need for the installation of a new Bosh if any?

- Answer Hi sallie, thanks for your question and for your interest in model SHXM88Z75N. Per the installation manual, the following materials are needed: 1) Elbow connection with 3/4” female hose threads on one end and fits your water supply line (copper tubing, compression fitting, or braided hose) on the other. 2) Hot Water Supply Line - Minimum 3/8″ O.D. copper tubing or metal braided dishwasher supply line. Only needed if house water supply line is not sufficient. 3) Shut-off valve and fittings appropriate for hot water supply line (copper tubing/compression fitting, or braided hose). A list of the tools needed can be found on page 6 of the installation manual as well.

- Answer Rather than buying a dishwasher with a water softener, adding a whole house water softener would be more economical. Doing so would reduce the amount of detergent required for washing clothes as well as greatly reduce the mineral deposits left in the toilet bowl, faucets, etc.
