I noticed the static in mine was because the power cord connector into the box was loose and when I pushed the cord in and held it in place the static stopped. So I took it back to Best Buy and explained the problem. Because the woofer was still under the 90 days from purchase date I was able to return it in exchange for another one. It’s looking to be that maybe that model type woofers are defective. I would say go to the store and exchange it.

By the time I got done checking things out the warranty was expired. When it didn't rattle it was great but I eventually just turn it off because it was so irritating. I tried it both wired and wireless. Seems Best Buy also had sold me one from a package, not a stand alone.
