- Answer I connected my 700 woofer too my sourdough 300 with no problems. As far the other soundtouch I don't know?

QuestionI have a soundbar from a 4 year old Cinemate sub woofer system that needs repair. It started making cracking noises a few weeks ago and now will not power on for more than 30 minutes. Also, the acoustimass cable appears to be snapped off in the port.

QuestionHow many channels is this bar considered?

- Answer The soundbar alone is probably three channels: Left, Center & Right. The bass module makes it 3.1. The surround speakers would make it 5.1. Bose technology, however, does a lot with sound, so I don't know if there is a direct comparison with separate-speaker systems. We replaced a 7.2 system with this Bose system and it sounds great--maybe even better. The wireless setup sure is nice!

Questiondoes the bass module 700 functions with a sony amplifier

- Answer No. It has its own integrated amplifier. It is not designed to work with a separate amplifier and does not need one. As it is out of the box, it can produce enough volume to be uncomfortable.

- Answer Yes , the power sounds it make is incredible. The only thing you have to do it is the pairing with the #7 in the soundbar control and then the calibration with the #8.
