I understand the iOS ones use the Apple mic standards & work with Apple devices but will not work with non Apple devices (the headphones will work but the mic will not).

The more expensive is the newer model however I was told there is no difference (no new features or technology) so I bought the cheaper version. I'm happy with my purchase. Hope that helps.
