If you're planning on using one earbud at a time then it would have to be the right earbud since the left one only connects if the right one is connected. If you want to use the left earbud alone, then you'd have to take the right earbud out of the case and leave it in your pocket but this can also lead to having a poor connection or potentially losing the earbud if you're not careful.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes and yes the other one can be left in the case.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, works great with just one ear bud in and the second one can be left in the case without a problem. I use only the right earbud most of the time because I have it paired to my phone for phone calls also. I've had high end bluetooth headsets before for making phone calls...but these are by far the best!

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. That's exactly my 'complaint", basically the RH ear pod is the main one, you have the controls there and anything that happens will be communicated through it, if you don't have it on (just the left one), you won't hear the instructions... if you use the right one the left will turn off eventually, but if you do the opposite the RH will be always on... if you put the LH ear pod back in the case while playing it will start recharging, but if you do the same with the RH ear pod then it will recharge but stop playing.
