JuneMai, There is a WIN 10 compatibility problem with the Soundsport Free model, no issue with the regular Soundsport model. You will find lots of commentary at the Bose community blog regarding this issue. I contacted Bose and they confirmed the issue to me and just stated that they are working to address the issue. The problem is that it has been a known issue since the product hit the market. I had to return mine. I could not live with the Win 10 incompatibility. (I am assuming that your laptop is a Windows machine)

Please try clearing the paired Bluetooth list, removing from the Bluetooth list on your computer, pairing again and testing for function. This will start a fresh Bluetooth connection.
