You can adjust the bass on the soundbar and found it to satisfactory for my personal use.

I've been using the Playbar without a sub (or surround speakers) for a couple months now and I have no complaints. If you're an audiophile then you may have the desire for more bass... but if you just want good, clear, loud sound from a single soundbar, then I'd say that Sonos has a pretty good option to try out. I've used two other soundbars in the past (Sony and Yamaha) and my Sonos is noticeably better in appearance and quality.
