“I do have a soundtouch 300 soundbar, may i connect it to a non bose subwoofer by cable? if not, what is the use of the 3.5mm acoustimass interface? it is not a subwoofer interface? thanks”

Hello markjune, thank you from the inquiry, I'd be happy to help. The connection labeled "acoustimass" is used for a wired connection to our Acoustimass 300 bass module only, this secondary option can be used in certain environments where electronic interference may be present or a customer prefers a completely wired system.
