“Will I sacrifice performance if I go via optical cable instead of HDMI arc? My tv has HDMI slots available, but I don't believe any of them support the "ARC" feature. Will I still experience all the benefits of the soundbar via optical cable?”

Hi there MARITOG91, The simplest way to connect The SoundTouch 300 is via an HDMI cable to your TV. If your TV does not have an HDMI connection, then you should connect the system to the TV using the optical cable. It will not affect the audio performance. Hope that helps! Thanks.

My LG OLED B7 sounds great via optical. I tried a Motorola DVR box & video game consoles running optical through my tv. I decided to just leave it optical on my LG OLED B7 55. I mean why bother with more work when optical sounds great. Just think if you ever do get a tv having a HDMI ARC port.... you will have that capability awaiting you too. As far as sacrificing performance? I don't think so. There is so many specific "Bose" technologies in this sound-bar that will still make anything sound so good.
