The sound bar by itself - if you look at how thin it is - produces a pretty amazing "quantity" of bass... it will give you some thump and rumble... but I would not say good or great bass quality. It's thumpy, and exaggerated, not tight, clean, musical bass. Adding the sub just gives you "more" bass, not "great" bass. Most people today can't really tell - they seem to think bass means that it booms. Great bass means tightly controlled, accurate bass notes, not just boom-i-ness. If you ever heard a car go by making that BOOM BOOM sounds there the trunk lid rattles, and though to yourself, "Wow, great bass," you might like this. Even the sound bar by itself gives you some of that.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The bass is not incredibly strong. I keep mine on max and think it sounds great. If your a music guy and like to entertain. I would buy the Sub as well for another 700. It's wireless and I heard it's unreal.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You will want to add the additional Sub module for more bass. Alone, the Soundtouch 300 sounds good but if you want the rumble when watching movies you will want the sub module. I went with the Bose because they offered the 10" Sub module where most other sounders were 6,7, or sometimes 8". I think Klipsch had a 10" sub with one of their Soundbars but the soundbar was way too big.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. So strong i set mine to number 2..and there is 4 setting
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Even with the Acoutimass subwoofer, the base is subtle, but that is the Bose way. I like it that way which is why I chose Bose over the Sonos system. If you like the floor to rumble, the chandelier to rattle, your pets to run out of the room unexpectedly and to feel it in your bones, I would suspect you would be happier with something like Sonos instead of Bose. But, if noticeable yet subtle describes you, than go for the Bose. I love mine!
