Hello, Pete. Thank you for your question. To provide some clarification, the SoundTouch 300 soundbar is not engineered to be mounted inside a recessed wall. We apologize for any confusion that may have been caused. The sound quality would be affected using this setup, as the speaker uses our Phaseguide technology to send audio from the sides of the soundbar. The audio then reflects off of your walls to create a surround sound effect. Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I spoke w/ Bose and the rep said flush mount would be no problem since the speakers all face forward. The perforations that wrap around the ends are only for aesthetics..
