This will not need a receiver.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You don't have to buy a receiver. Just connect the sound bar to the HDMI ARC of your TV or if you prefer, you can also use the optical cable and that's basically it. For other devices like blu ray player or gaming console, you connect those to your tv and the sound output will automatically be directed to the sound bar. Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The Bose soundbar can be connected directly to a TV, a cable box or any audio source without a receiver or amplifier. So the answer is no, you do not need a receiver.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No, you don't have to buy a receiver. It hooks directly to a TV using either HDMI ARC or optical digital audio. The manual states there is a way to connect using an audio converter and separate audio cable if the TV doesn't support HDMI ARC or optical digital audio. All other devices (e.g., cable box, DVD player, game console, etc.) are attached to the TV, and whatever is playing on the TV is heard through the soundbar. You can also connect a mobile device via Bluetooth. We connect our TV via HDMI ARC and iPhone via Bluetooth, and have had no issues with either. Setup was easy and love the sound.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, the sound bar acts as a receiver, so you don’t need to buy a separate receiver.
