You may want to consider trying out the Insignia Digital to Analog connector Model 4226000 (cost is $29.99) . My husband thought that our 2015 TV wasn't compatible with the Bose soundbar so I went to Best Buy and the salesman recommended this connector. As it turns out my husband didn't see the "Optical" input on the back of our TV. Using the thin QRT connector that came with the soundbar I connected the TV to the soundbar and the soundbar worked.
