What a curious situation.... Have you checked that all connections are secure? Looked into the settings of your cable/satellite box? Or reset the entire system by powering off-unplugging-waiting 30 seconds- reconnecting to power- then waiting 30 seconds for the system to reboot?? This is something that'd I'd really need a bit more information on in order help you with.
