The Soundwear companion speaker was engineered to use digital signal processing to deliver rich sound to the listener while reducing the amount of sound that others hear. The device is very versatile because it allows a volume level in which only you can hear the music at a decent volume and not the person standing right by you. What I mean is that the sound will be more prominent for you but very easily ignored by others. I work in retail and at my store, they have background music that I was forced to listen to, which I disliked. I am now able to wear these and hear my music at work while personally taking care of the customer. 90% of the time people don't even notice, but those who do immediately want to try it on and then buy it. If these where selling at my store, they would be a hit. Just buy these and enjoy your new life!!!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The sound comes from two tiny speakers in the collar. The speakers are right under your ears and point UPWARD toward your ears. If someone was sitting right next to you they might be able to hear your caller or music, if you had it turned up loud. But someone 5 feet away wouldn't hear it.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The sound is truly great. You feel like you are inside the sound without playing the speakers at extremely high, damaging volume. Yet you can hear environmental sounds like people talking, sirens, etc. However others can hear your music as well and phone conversations are as public as a speaker phone. It is not a noise cancelling or privacy device and probably not for dorm rooms or airplanes. But if you don't like things in or over your ears and you want the best, fullest sound ever, this is a great choice. The sound comes from speakers located on the collar directly below where your ears would be when you wear it. It is quite comfortable, although I probably would not wear them jogging or working out because there is nothing to prevent the device from falling off your neck. But I cleaned house, walked around outside without any problems. I certainly would recommend for people who want sound quality above all else.
