MP4 does not work with this system. However, the following formats are the ones I tested and work: .asf .avi .mpg and .wmv. MP4 format can easily be converted to a working format using a video converter app. It's also important to know the audio formats that are accepted: MP3 and WAV are accepted. WAV is the best format for quality because it is uncompressed. I converted all my music cds to WAV because it is lossless which means I don't lose any quality. The music sounds exactly the same as the original. I use a micro-SD card because it does not stick out of the dash. WAV files use more memory but memory now is very cheap so it's best to use WAV.
