A:AnswerHey Farmer, I'm not sure that if it would fit in your 2002 Toyota Tacoma but I needed to buy a kit for my 2010 Nissan Rogue and it was worth it. Because I'm pleasantly surprised by the way of how the Boss radio/cd player has performed. I hope that my answer helped you out with your decision.
A:AnswerYes. It works fine without one. We did get the adapter because the radio we replaced had it. You just have two options to control the radio with it.
A:AnswerI would assume the gurus at Best Buy (Geek Squad) could put on an adapter & run extra cable to a back up camera or possibly make a cable long enough ?? I would call your local BB and ask to be sure.
As far as the GPS, it uses NDrive, I tried to do a quick look up on their website, but didn't find anything. The software can be updated via SD card, so if they offer a truck route map, it could be downloaded & used. I know my stand-alone Tom Tom could do that, but I never had need for a truck route map. Does not appear that there is a built-in option to use truck routes. It has the standard "Avoid tolls, Fastest route, shortest route, etc... I would contact NDrive or the guys at BB may know that too, this is a popular model for them.
A:AnswerI installed it in a 2004 GMC Yukon, so my guess is probably. Like many aftermarket radios, there are usually adapters that are required to get it to fit nicely as well as various wiring harnesses. Usually an aftermarket replaces everything that you had before - navigation, CD, XM. I am not sure about the rear DVD. This unit does not directly support XM. You would have to use a work-around to get it to work (i.e., aux inputs, etc.). The XM would have to be controlled by another user device (cell phone, portable satellite radio unit, etc.). This does have navigation and aux audio/video inputs, so it might be possible to hook up the rear DVD. A professional installer could tell you. You would have to buy a wiring harness that supports steering wheel control to retain that function. For my situation, I bypassed the SWC. The Yukon had OnStar capability and I think that was bypassed with the aftermarket, too. (with a cell phone and AAA, we didn't need that subscription).
