“I would like to connect speakers to my Technics turntable. Do these speakers have a built in phono-preamp?”

Hi MikeB, The 600 Series are passive speakers. This means the require an amplifier to drive them. Phono pre-amps are extremely sensitive devices and because of this, we recommend a set-up where the phono stage is housed either within the turntable, or within the amplifier driving the speakers. They do not. You need either an integrated amplifier or receiver to drive these, or to purchase self-amplifier (active) speakers with a built-in phono preamp.
