“I am considering buying a Yamaha A - S501 amp which has 85 watts per channel or a Denon PMA 600NE amp which has 70 watts per channel. I also need a CD player and saw that Denon RCD N10 has one plus 130 watts. I have B&W 606 speakers.”

That’s plenty of power for these speakers. Both Yamaha and Denon have good amps. Let your pocketbook decide.
