A:Answer This question is almost four years old but, for any others, the base attaches to glass with a good suction. Guess it would attach to the dash depending on surface material of your dash. No good for mine. The magnet is for holding the phone to the holder and works fine until heat causes the adhesive between the disk and the phone to become weaker than the magnet, causing the phone to fall off the holder. Work-around is to use a protective case on your phone and just sandwich the disk between the case and the back of your phone.
