Hi there, this is Kaleb with Bracketron. Thank you for your question! After 5 - 10 minutes, your device will complete sterilization and the process will automatically stop. You do not need to open the lid or remove your device if you do not want to. Also, yes, the PwrUp Clean can be used solely as a wireless charger without the UV sterilization function being on.
