The arm is flexible . You can just bend it to whatever shape you prefer. You may have to bend it a little bit past the point you want it to be at and then it will retain the shape. It's pretty heavy duty so you will have to bend it pretty hard.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.just keep working with it. it is sorta like a goose neck lamp, it will go almost straight out if you need it to. Mine came in the same configuration and finally worked it to the point of almost straight out from the windshield. It is flexible and will form and hold it's shape. Attach it to the window or windshield and then position the holder where you want it. it is a little stiff so it will hold to where you bend it. I couldn't make mine go straight out from the windshield, but with a little work and patience the phone sits just below the rear view mirror and is within easy reach. Good luck!

If the arm is still in a "U" shape, put a hand on each side of the "U" arms and slowly pull the arms away from each other, and you should have a "L" shape. Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I had no difficulty adjusting for my use. But it may depend upon your windshield angle. My windshield is sharply angled toward the driver at the windshield top. So minimum adjustment was required for me. Again, depending upon where you place it, when not using the GPS, the phone holder portion may obscure some of the info on your instrument panel. I just pull off the large holder portion and put it in the glove box. It comes on and off easily.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.You have to force it into the shape you want. It's really firm, so it feels like it's going to break if you bend it hard, but it won't. The material it's made out of is flexible.
