This is a perfect windshield mount cell phone holder. It took less than a minute to install and has been completely secure. It's got a suction cup with a little ratchet button that gets it fully suctioned in a matter of seconds. Once it's installed, you can swivel the phone holder for horizontal or vertical viewing. It has a bendy arm which stays where you put it so you can adjust the angle and height. It has arms with foam cushions to protect your phone. Those arms accept large phones (I have S8+, something like 6 inches) and once you click the arms around your phone, you're good to go. When you leave the car, there's a release button right behind the phone, which prevents accidental releases but is still easy to work once you've used it twice. While you're driving, there is some minor vibration, after all, it's hanging by a single arm from your windshield. But there's far less vibration than i excited and my phone is always readable. I used to have my phone tilted in a lower center console, which meant that when i need Google directions, i had to look away from my phone. Now it's up high under my rear view mirror, which feels much safer, as I'm looking inches to the side instead of down near the floor. Great price, looks like great quality, and it couldn't be easier both to initially install and to use everyday, that i wouldn't hesitate to recommend. I now have my phone up even for my daily commute, just in case of construction or accidents, because it's that easy and convenient. Please don't use it for anything other than maps. I know some of you are thinking of doing that. Don't do that. Hang in there a few more years, the self driving cars are coming. Until then, maps only!!! Sorry, off my soap box. This is a great product!

First, let me thank the Best Buy team member who recommended this product with only a brief description of what I wanted and issues I was having. It's for my wife and she has the iPhone 7 Plus with a Nodus Access case. The case is leather and the issue was that with my Kenu holder from Target, it only fit in the vent and the way my vents are setup in my Toyota Camry and Toyota Corrola is couldn't quite sit comfortably in the vent. I explained that the Kenu holder also didn't seem to quite grip the whole 7 Plus with this leather case wrapped around it. She immediately pointed this holder out. Funny thing was I was already researching other options around $34.99 and they seemed like they would go great. Alas, she came right to this and said, this will work perfect and she wasn't lying. Her phone easily.....easily fits within the wide grippers on the sides to hold her phone AND case. However, it's not overly bulky; it just simply holds in its position. Another great thing is that this piece has 'feet' to hold the bottom of the phone in a ''just in case' type scenario. I will add pics when I get some time but this would be 6 stars if I could choose that. Great job Bracketron and thank you to the team member who knew her stuff and made the best recommendation!

Wayy too shaky and unstable 4 vehicle use

This device was a good "idea" but not so much when it was placed in vehicle for use-Its flexible and good in that sense but having the flex arm it allows wayyy too much moving and shaking when your device is attached to the windshield of your car and its hard to focus on if your using it to follow gps from your phone or to read anything. I kept it hoping I could still use it somehow but it is kinda brutal on my smartphone with all the shaking so I can't leave my phone attached to it constantly when driving so if this is what you might be purchasing it for I don't really recommend it because its gonna have that annoying distracting movement no matter what kind of vehicle you drive luxury etc. Its worse if you are on a rough road. Even though a fixed arm isn't as convenient it eliminates that constant shake so I will be investing in the fixed holder for future use hated that because this one would have been quite useful. Also the release button for the suction cup is hard to manage and the release button for your device is in a very inconvenient place. Not a good option for any moving vehicle.

I've been reluctant to use a cell phone holder that holds the phone above the dash thinking it would obstruct my view so I tried the one that attaches to the vent but the phone was getting hot from the Heat or cold from the A/C (even if the vents were set to blow elsewhere). So I decided to try this one thinking it would mount better and be less messy than one sticking to my dash board. It's been a couple of weeks, so far so good. I mounted it right where my rear view mirror is so it hangs well below the mirror. I don't feel it obstructs my view and it's convenient for looking at my GPS without looking down. It hasn't fallen off once but it does have minimal shaking when going over rougher terrain (or torn up plowed Boston roads). I thought the spring loaded arms that go along the sides of the phone to hold it in place were broken but they weren't. There's a little green lever that you push to release your phone, sometimes you have to manual pull it out for it to work the next time you want to put your phone back in (minor inconvenience). There is also a little ledge you can pull out to go under your phone and help hold it in place, I didn't realize that at first as it held the phone fine without it. I'd recommend it.

    Uber Gear

Since I started with Uber, I needed to get something to hold my iphone in place safely to follow the navigation system. This was pretty cheap at $20 but it does the job quite well. Easy to put together as there are only two parts, the arm and the plate. Suction cup worked quite easily, sticking to the windshield without any trouble. I use an iphone 6 and the grip mechanism holds it in place rather well. I will say the ‘arms’ holding it in place are rather long, so depending on how you set it up, if its not perfectly facing you, those arms tend to get in the way and slightly block the view of part of the phones edges. This is more of an annoyance than an actual problem. Also, if the arm isn’t touching the dashboard, the unit tends to bounce a bit while driving if you’re on something other than a smooth road. Again, no so much a problem as an annoyance. I’m going to try and see if I can bend the arm to have it rest slightly on the dashboard and hopefully it’ll fix that. Removing the phone is also pretty easy. Release button on the back is easy to access and you can have your phone in your hands in a jippy. All in all, for $20 bucks, it does the job, no real complaints.

Product experience put to rest my skepticism

I have to admit I was skeptical about this one. But I needed a way to mount my Android-based GPS in a way that allowed me to glance at it and not fumble for my phone and hold it while driving. My concern? That with no support other than a suction cup that would seal this to the inside of my windshield, it would drop onto the floor at least every few hours. I bought it and immediately put it into service on a 6-hour drive. No problems. The next day - still no problems. Since owning it, it has not fallen off. And so based upon that alone, I was quite happy. The rest of the product is good quality. It helps to know where to reach for the quick-release when you have to park the car and take the phone. The clips are good quality and I did not need to extend the little platform that supports the phone from below - the side clips were enough. Positioning might be a concern - my LG V20 has a power button/biometric scanner on the back so I need to mount it a bit higher if I wish to have access to that. Well worth the money. I consider this essentially a safety device and as such I expect a certain level of quality, functionality and reliability - higher bars which this device has met.

    Window mount is terrible

There are two parts to the product, a suction cup and arm that mounts to the windshield, and a phone bracket that goes on the end. Unfortunately the windshield mount is absolutely terrible and cannot support the phone on the arm, it only works if the bottom of the phone bracket is resting on the dashboard. The suction cup itself is holding fine, but there is a ratchet sort of thing that is supposed to tighten the arm to the cup and support the arm, bracket and phone. However due to how it is made, the ratchet teeth do not hold and just release again after tightening. The teeth are too shallow, or too slippery or something, it simply will not hold and pops right loose again. The actual Phone bracket on this is really nice, able to support from the bottom and sides and very easy to place and release the phone. But unless you want this resting on the dashboard this product is unuseable.

Bought this hoping for a fix to a simple problem, my previous $5 mount (different brand) which I bought elsewhere lasted for about two years until I upgraded to the 8 plus which was too wide. After purchasing this i became immediately annoyed... the goose neck jiggles with every slightest movement meaning the screen moves constantly. The clips on the side are supposed to ratchet when you push them snug to the phone, unfortunately the one I purchased only did so about half the time so putting the phone onto the mount became a hassle. Being someone who tries to stay positive and muster on, I exchanged this for the more expensive magnetic version.... the magnet isn’t strong enough to hold the iPhone 8+ and silicon case, so after awhile it slides off and falls. These mounts are a hair more expensive than others and are quite low in quality, they even feel a little cheap/rickety/not solid... I will be returning the magnetic mount and looking elsewhere.

I like this phone holder. This is my second one that I have bought. It holds the phone firmly in the holder. The side supports have ratchet type adjustment and the release Works well. The long arm is very versatile for positioning. The release of the suction mount can be a little tricky. Make sure you release the suction cup button prior to removal. It holds the arm firmly in place. I bought the other holder Bestbuy carries. I didn't like the way it side supports work. It seems like it grips don't grab the phone firmly. It doesn't click into position like this model does. It does have a shorter and stiffer arm. But this limit's the adjustment you can make. I had issues with my dash and mirror clearances while my phone was plugged in for charging. I didn't need to use the vent supports. I'm not sure how good they would work. Well that's my take on this holder. Hopefully this will help you decide on your purchase. Good luck

I've tried multiple different holders, but this one has been the most secure on my windshield. Also appreciate the locking side tabs, and feet at the bottom which lock in the Galaxy S7 just great. the only grumble I have, is that the different pieces started to fall out - the neck falls out of the suction cup base for example. Mostly it's snug enough to stay put unless I'm trying to bend the arm while attached. I can fix with a dab of glue still, but I never have glue handy when it decides to fall apart while I'm driving ... :) I've also noticed that they keep making subtle changes to the design. Every time I buy this bracket, something is a little different. Usually improvements though. I just left one in the rental car and bought a new one - but this time the side bumpers seem to be flatter, and don't clasp around the front of the S7 as much, but so far the phone hasn't fallen out.

This is my very first car phone mount and I use it for ride sharing. I've been using it for about a month now and It is good quality sturdy, durable, and easy to "install" aka "put on" to window (as long as you follow instructions - which are simplified into 4 easy steps). I live in an area which hit triple digits often and this phone mount withstood the triple digit heat (when not in use I put in glove compartment to avoid theft). The only way for your phone to fall off or "not work" is if you didn't squeeze the sides to fit your phone properly or the back is not properly installed to the mount or the mount is defective. Nevertheless, if you follow directions and place it in a convenient place on your window (I use the left side away from center view- easy to use) you should be fine! Landscape and portrait views (for lack of better words) works well. I suggest before you buy anything to read and consider the good and bad reviews, do your research Google, YouTube etc; and more than likely, if the rating is 4+ stars that's an indication of a good product.

2001 Chevrolet 2500, Galaxy S8+ with UAG flip case ~ Using this attached to windshield via suction cup (right of steering wheel), with it resting on edge of dash when phone is mounted (panoramic position). -Cup sticks like glue to windshield. Have not attempted textured dash. -Flexible 'arm' is firm which is especially important for trucks and performance oriented vehicles with tight suspension. It's not quite as long as expected, but phone barely rests right on edge of dash which is probably best so it doesn't flop around off-road. -Has a release that works almost like a gas-charged shock-slowly opens when buttoned is pressed. The grab is foam-covered and beefy enough for a universally firm grip. Could easily fit giant phones like the Notes, as it opens much wider than my large S8+ with case. -It rotates so you can mount phone in panoramic position (my choice). -Price point is great!

Pretty Good For The Front Vehicle Windshield

Just recently purchased and pretty good. It works well when my iPhone 6 is installed into the unit. If I am driving down a rocky or rough road and there is NO iPhone 6 in the unit, it will wiggle a bit and make a shaking/rattling noise that is a bit irritating. So, best thing with this item is to be sure that your iPhone 6 and/or perhaps another Smart Phone is properly installed into the unit, if you are driving down a rocky or rough terrain road. Other than that, I prefer it to the old style and older unit that I have in my other vehicle, which is made by another manufacturer and is at least 8 years old. The neck does "stick out" a bit from the windshield, but, that allows the unit to be closer to your face/body in order to be able to use GPS, etc., while using your Smart Phone. Overall, a good product and will purchase again, if needed and I do recommend this product based on the price and quality for same.

Looking at the picture of this unit, I was concerned it would wiggle and bounce or that the long leverage would cause it to come off the windshield. But this unit works remarkably well! The ratchet system that sucks it the windshield is incredibly strong. I am surprised car manufacturers don’t use it for factory installation of the rear view mirror. The clamp that holds the widest of phones (3 3/4”) is cushioned to securely hold the phone, and a simple push on the side button releases it. I drive different cars for my job and the flexibility and sturdyness of this unit would work for any car. It doesn’t bounce or shake while driving, and easily adjusts to any angle. Perfect.

I have tried many iPhone holders made for the car, and every one until this one has had deficiencies. They either do not hold the phone properly or in the proper orientation, or they are not adjustable so that the phone can be seen in bright sunlight. All that I have tried before that were mounted to the windshield by suction have eventually lost their grip, usually when I am driving. This one I have had for over a week, and it still has yet to lose suction. It is adjustable with its flexible arm, which is long enough to position the phone exactly where you want it. The length of the arm allows a small amount of vibration, but I have not found this to be annoying. Altogether a superb mount and cheaper than other inferior units. You need a mount for your iPhone in the car, buy this one.

This mobile phone holder works exactly as I expected it to. It has held to the window securely through the heat of summer and the cold of winter. There is some noticeable vibration of the phone when in the holder as other reviews have mentioned. I drive a Lexus SUV with a smooth ride so I believe the vibration will occur with most any vehicle and is most likely impossible to eliminate if you use any mobile phone holder with a long adjustable arm. I was able to cut down a lot of the vibration by curving the arm and resting the part of the arm close to the phone on the dashboard. However, I do not find the vibration to be an issue since you should not be looking at the phone that intently while the car is in motion anyway.

I really enjoy the long arm on the product which brings your mobile device a little bit farther from the windshield and closer to you... Easier on the eyes and less direct sunlight on the device especially during summer months. Some of the quarks plague the device from receiving 5 stars. The adjustable arm which allows you to use multiple devices of varying widths constantly detaches from the arm... Not sure I got lemon but this started about 5 months after purchase. Additionally the suction the window is also weak so it falls from the window quite often which is a true inconvenience and hazard while driving. I would be interested in the experience from others to.base if I would buy the product again.

This is a very good holder for your cell phone. I currently have an iPhone 6, and it works great! I love that you can adjust the rod to make the phone just the right distance between you and the windshield. It also has the ability to swivel at the point of contact of the phone as well, making an easy transition to landscape view. I only have two negatives about this product. First, because your phone rests on two feet at the bottom of the holder, it makes the speakers just slightly quieter and it is harder to hear turn by turn directions or calls coming in on speaker phone. Second, also because of the feet, the phone does not fit well in the holder if you have an AUX cord plugged into the headphone jack. Other than those two minor things, this is a great product.

Product works exactly as expected. It adheres to your windshield with ease and stays in place, precisely what you would want a phone holder to do. The only issue that I have had with mine happened immediately after I opened it: the bendable rod had separated from the suction cup base. Now I'm not entirely sure if this was part of the manufacturers design, but it seemed to me that the rod could easily fall out of the base when attached to the windshield. A dab of epoxy was all it took to permanently attach the pieces together; a simple solution for a simple issue. Other than that, this piece has worked amazingly for long car rides while using my phone as a GPS.

I attached mine to windshield and let the extended arm rest on dash to prevent movement. It holds phone tight! But the flexibility of the extented arm and connecting parts need to be heavier in construction to prevent vibration. I have built my own phone holders and I can say from an Engineering point of view, for the cost of the phone holder device, I give it 4 out of 5 stars. However, it needs beefed up construction. It needs to extend farther from the windshield. It barely made it to the outer edge of the dash of the shortest part next to the steering wheel next to the drivers door. I placed a bean bag and duct tape across the arm that lays across the dash to stabilize the vibration. My truck is a 4x4 and rides ruff! Your vehicle may differ in vibrations..
