- Answer I love my Breville Espresso/Latte machine but to be honest, it is not and can not replace a coffee maker. If your guests want a traditional cup of drip coffee you are going to disappoint them. The most notable reason is that they are already DRIP COFFEE DRINKERS and they'll know you are trying to trick them with a diluted espresso shot. You can get an everyday drip coffee maker for less than the sales tax on this machine - or go pick pick up a drip coffee machine at a second hand store for $10 and break it out when the drip coffee people come over. That's what we did. We enjoy our lattes' daily and break out the drip machine twice a year for guests.

QuestionI will move to China next year. In China the voltage is 220/240VAC at 50 Hertz... Do Breville makes a machine intended for such voltage/frequency that can be used in such countries???

- Answer My son lives in China and he was able to shop different espresso machines in Shanghai. If you are going to live in a larger city you can find one. I do not believe he has had to buy any voltage adaptors where he is.

- Answer Yes, it actually has 4 baskets. Two for espresso and two for regular ground coffee. Each type have a single and double shot/dose. I only use the double because that's the quantity of coffee I drink %99 of the time.

Questioni'm planing to buy the barista express from best buy and then, i will take it to the middle east. the issue here is that, this espresso maker works with a 110v and back home, we only have 220v. do I need to buy a voltage coveter ? if yes how many Watts?

- Answer This appliance is only intended for operation on North American electrical circuits 110/120V 60Hz. It is not compatible with nor do we recommend using converters or adapters.

- Answer Breville USA appliances are designed and engineered for the 110/120V electrical power grid, not compatible with converters or adapters which are against our recommendations as the manfuacturer and further warrnaty would be void outside of North America. - Answer As a male who doesn't create espressos or coffee in general, but has a barista for a wife: She says it has all the extra tools, tricks, and kicks that the devices that are about 140$ cheaper don't have. All those tools it comes with supposedly adds up to $140.00. Hope this helps!

- Answer I prefer to if to do everything by hand to insure it is done right. My only concern is that some dishwashers heat mechanism can be excessive and this could lead to distortion over time. Yes you can but treat this tank with care. This machine is amazing

- Answer The manufacturer recommends keeping it full. And remembering to fill it a couple of times a week. I use bottled water and have no complaints. Great machine.

- Answer ESE pods generally require a specialized filter cup for use. The Breville® BES870 Barista Express™ does not have a compatible filter cup for use with ESE pods.
