No. I think those hard rubber/plastic protrusions are heat resistant "bumpers" making sure you don't place the oven so the back is too close to the wall. It may not be a good idea to wind the cord around the bumpers.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The slots in these bumpers are perfectly sized to for the rectangular shaped cord; therefore, it seems logical to use these to wrap excess cord versus having excess cord be loose behind the toaster and contacting the hot metal sides of the unit.
