“Just tried the grinder for the first time. The motor is making a horrible sound intermittently. It makes the same sound even when the hopper in empty. Any ideas?”

• If I was you I would return it asap! Mine only lasted a few months before the drive shaft broke and never heard back from Brim.

• Could be misaligned. Mine does not sound like that at all. I hope you returned it.

• Sounds like the burrs may be defective. I've never had trouble and I've used it quite a bit. If you have made sure the grinder is completely empty (sometimes a bean can get stuck) and you've brushed the burrs out clean and it still makes a noise, I'd return.
