A:AnswerThe machine starts at 4 cups which is 20oz. When I brew this amount the resulting brew is a little under extracted due to brew time being shorter. In these cases, I will make the grind finer to extract a little more. You will have to play with your grind for your own tastes.
Per manufacturer, “optimal” settings on the machine is 7 cups(35oz) with a medium grind.
A:AnswerThe water is measured but I wouldn't say it's timed. It basically boils whatever amount of water you put in it, and drips the water out over the coffee like a very slow pour over. It's only an on/off function so all control is with the amount of water and coffee you use. But it's lovely to watch the water bubble up and the drip shower, and it makes a great cup or 8 of coffee.

A:AnswerHello, thanks for reaching out. Standard Drip coffee makers does not adhere to the specialty coffee association brewing standards for a gold cup standard of coffee. Brim pour over passes the rigorous SCA testing protocols for a gold cup standard of coffee and is approved by the association. Hope this helps. Have a great day. The BRIM Team.
